Biographies and lessons details

Gerrit Boschloo leads the hybrid solar cell research at Uppsala University at the department of Chemistry. He has 20 years experience on dye-sensitized solar cells and four years on perovkite solar cells. He is specialized in in-situ characterization of hybrid solar cells.

Dye Solar Cells

Dye-sensitized solar cells will discuss and explain in depth the working mechanism of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). The different components and their respective requirements will be treated. The interactions between the components, such as the dye and the redox couple are of great importance. Methods for in-situ analysis of the kinetics and energetics of the DSC are presented and explained. Finally, I will link research on dye-sensitized solar cells with that on perovskite solar cells.

Julian Burschka is project leader in R&D of Merck group. Followed by Prof. Michael Graetzel of EPFL institute, he received the PhD degree with a thesis on "High performance solid-state mesoscopic solar cells".

Björn Niesen is a researcher of the Photovoltaics-Laboratory (PV-Lab) of Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
