Mónica Lira-Cantú is Group Leader of the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, ICN2. She received different awards/fellowships as a visiting scientist to the following laboratories: University of Oslo, Norway (2003), Riso National Laboratory, Denmark (2004/2005) and the Center for Advanced Science and Innovation, Japan (2006). She obtained a permanent position in 2007 at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC, Spain) and started the laboratory on Photovoltaic Energy at CIN2 in 2007. She has been the PI of several projects (including national, industrial and European), and she is the principal coordinator of a COST Action Proposal (approved in 2013) related to the study of the stability of Organic solar cells (OPVs). Her research interests are the synthesis and application of nanostructured materials for stable next-generation thin film solar cells: Perovskite solar cells, Dye-sensitized, Hybrid and Organic Solar Cells.
