Gloria Zanotti was born in Saronno (Va) on January 17th1983.

She obtained the first level laurea degree in chemistry cum laude at the university of  Rome "La Sapienza", with a short experimental thesis named “synthesis of functionalized allyl alcohols and preparation of their correspondent b-dicarbonylic esters” and the second level laurea degree in the same university with an experimental thesis named "Synthesis of unsatured functionalized lactones by intramolecolar metathesis of enyne esters".

Since November 2007 she is a Ph.D student in System Engineering at the university of Rome "Tor Vergata", working on the synthesis of new phthalocyanines and porphyrins-based dyes for dye sensitized solar cells.

From March to September 2010 she joined the group of prof. Tomas Torres at the Autonoma University of Madrid where she has spent a period of six moths in order to synthesize new unsimmetrically substitued zinc phthalocyanines.
