Pier Gianni Medaglia is Associate Professor of Physics (mostly electromagnetism and modern physics) at the Department of Industrial Engineering of University of Rome "Tor Vergata".
He graduated (summa cum laude) in Physics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and he obtained the Ph.D. in “Microsystems Engineering” at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata”.
Medaglia is author/coauthor of more than 90 scientific publications in international journals (wiyth almost 1400 citations and h-factor = 21).
Research interests are in the field of synthesis and characterization of functional materials, mainly nanostructured materials (nanorods, nanoplatelets, and so on), thin films, effects at the interfaces of different crystals. The applications of these novel and sometime artificial materials range from photovoltaics to biomedical, from energy harvesting to gas sensors, from electrochemistry to bio-sensors.
Pier Gianni Medaglia is also the Rector’s Delegate for the welcome and inclusion of students with disabilities and learning specific difficulties at “Tor Vergata”.
